This weekend, the Green Spa team traveled to Copenhagen to attend the World Massage Championship organized by the International Massage Association . And unsurprisingly, the event exceeded all our expectations!

Competitions in the world of massage and wellness are unlike any other. And for good reason: everyone present is not just there to win medals.
Indeed, when you work in the world of well-being, it necessarily implies having a certain amount of kindness . And above all, a good amount of passion ! Now, who says passion, necessarily says desire to transmit it.
This is why every time the Green Spa team has gone to a Championship, we have witnessed the birth of a real network. Because the wellness professionals who are there are not only there to show their innovative massage techniques, but also to learn new ones and to meet other masseurs who share their passion.
This is far from a basic competition , where participants throw dirty looks at each other: the World Massage Championship took place in a motivated and enthusiastic atmosphere. Everyone was happy to be there, and it was a pleasure to see!
At the 4 corners of the place, we found masseurs exchanging , and even massaging each other in order to relax before the tests. It was an extraordinary experience, to do at least once in a lifetime!
The Championship began on Friday 27th with workshops and conferences on the world of massage. The Green Spa team was able to participate and discover the latest developments in the field of well-being in the United States, Canada and also in Asia… Yes, that’s the advantage of an international massage championship : all countries get involved!
It was only on Saturday morning that all the participants and judges gathered for the first meetings. The advantage of this championship was that there was something for everyone when it came to massage.
In fact, the organizers have realized that in recent years, new developments in massage have exploded. And this is a very good thing: more and more masseurs are training and creating their own massage techniques , thanks to what they learn in schools and in the field.
On this occasion, to allow all masseurs and masseuses to fully flourish (and stand out) in their discipline, there were no less than 9 possible categories of massages:
Participants could choose one or more massage categories in which to compete. And they also had to receive massages from their peers during the other events, in order to vary the pleasures and discover new worlds.
From Saturday 8:30 a.m. to Sunday 4 p.m., the massages and events followed one after the other, to the great delight of the Green Spa team who were able to attend several extraordinary meetings.
As always, the French came out in force at this International Championship. Not only to demonstrate the quality of French massages to the world, but also because French masseurs know each other and make up a great team. There's no denying it: in France, we are well represented!
Over the course of the events, we were able to witness, for example, original massages from Tony Malfone , David Grand , Marius Massage , Omiri , Pozen Massages , Brice Avon , Ludovic Maire … and so many others!
It was a real pleasure to be able to move between all the rooms to see them at work. In each room, there was a particular category of massage. Which also helped to highlight that, even if we often find the same categories in the world of well-being, each universe is so unique.
You will not have two masseurs who approach sports massage or slimming massage in the same way. And it was also very impressive to see that this is the case even in the context of classic and very “structured” massages like Swedish massage. Passionate masseurs always demonstrate originality: what a pleasure.
The little extra from Green Spa:
Even though we didn't have the chance to get a massage, we realized something: watching others get massaged is relaxing! Several times, the team members surprised themselves by filming a massage and following the hypnotic movements of the masseur or masseuse for several dozen minutes.
Between the soft music and the languor of the complex and technical massages , it was a real pleasure. A busy weekend, full of emotions and sweetness, that we will not soon forget.
